London Olympic 2012

It is all about London Olympic 2012. It is third time Olympic is going to be held in London. In 2005, there was an election to select the host country in Singapore by International Olympic committee (IOC) at the 117th IOC Session. In the session London beat Paris in the final round. At first nine cities submitted the application to become host of 2012 Olympic Games. The participants were:-

1. London (Great Britain),
2. New York (United States of America),
3. Paris (France),
4. Istanbul (Turkey),
5. Leipzig (Germany),
6. Madrid (Spain),
7. Moscow (Russian Federation),
8. Havana (Cuba) and
9. Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

Among those nine candidates, International Olympic committee (IOC) Executive Board has selected five cities on 28 may 2004. Those five cities were:

1. London (Great Britain),
2. New York (United States of America),
3. Paris (France),
4. Madrid (Spain) and
5. Moscow (Russian Federation).

On 6th July 2005 the 117th IOC session was held in Singapore and from the session final decision of the host city has made by full IOC membership. From the session London has been elected for 2012 Olympic Games by 54 votes from a possible 104. London had to overcome a hard competition to be selected and the total graph is given below.
